The Farmland Values Project is a USDA-funded project in collaboration with the economics, sociology and geography departments at University of North Carolina at Asheville and Appalachian State University. Using tools such as surveys, interviews and focus groups, this project explores the cultural, economic, environmental and scenic value of farmland.

The public presentation of this interdisciplinary project is an audio-rich website based on years worth of data using interviews with farmers, developers, and rural and urban residents at its core.

The project is used as an educational tool for the public as well as policy-makers on the value of farmland.
